2018 ORE Nationals Round 4 – KMR
The last round of the 2018 South-African ORE national championship was held at Krugersdorp Model Racers at the Key West Track over weekend 03 and 04 November 2017. After Round 3 was cancelled, this event was key in determining the champion as it was three rounds to count for the 2018 championship. Controlled practise was rained out on Thursday but Friday we had great weather and good track conditions ensuring a fast pace for all drivers.

IFMAR Worlds Warm-Up and SARDA 2018 Round 2 – Welkom RC Arena
Coelho, Hagberg and Kotze wins in South Africa
The second round of the 2018 South-African ORE national championship was hosted at the Welkom RC Arena over weekend 28 and 29 April 2018. This event coincided with the IFMAR 2018 Worlds Warm-up event on the brand new indoor asphalt facility purposely build for the 2018 IFMAR ISTC and 1/12 world championship. Some of the top drivers in the world made their way to South Africa with more than 15 world championships between them to get to know the track characteristics.

2018 Gas Nationals Round 1 – BRCCC
Thursday started with rain to everyone’s disappointment. It was thought that it might be a good idea to rather give them the 2nd Nationals of the year as that may be more out of the rainy season at the coastal areas. After the rain subsided and the track had dried, we were able to start testing our settings and tyres after 1pm. 2018 ORE Nationals Round 1 – Trap
The first round of the 2018 South-African ORE national championship was hosted by TRAP RC Venue in Pretoria over weekend 17 and 18 February 2017. There is great excitement within the South African RC family with the 2018 IFMAR Worlds being hosted in Welkom later in the year. There were two practice and a pre-nationals events hosted before the nationals and all the top drivers were practising hard to fine tune the setups in hot weather conditions with the track reaching temperatures of up to 67 degrees and a very fast layout.

2017 1/12 Scale Nationals Round 5 – Welkom

The final round of the 2017 South-African ORE 1/12th national championship series was held at the Welkom RC Arena over weekend 18-19 November 2017. With the new track build for the IFMAR 2018 worlds on track, this was the last official event to be hosted at the current indoor facility. To make the weekend more special, the 1/12th Nationals was combined with a Nandos Challenge in the style of a Reedy Format racing for Touring Modified and Pro-stock class. Hollander & Hill win at SARDA EP Off-road Nats finale
The last round of the 2017 SARDA National Series was held at Ultra Raceway in Pretoria, South Africa. It was a two day event with three heats of qualifying being held on the Saturday and three heats of mains being held on the Sunday. The track is an outdoor carpet surface with extremely high traction and this lead to some exciting high-speed racing for the weekend in all the various classes.
